Good evening,
We are implementing an updated late bus policy to ensure all middle school students are safe, supported, and properly supervised after school. We shared this information with students last week, and wanted to be sure you are aware ahead of tomorrow’s implementation.

Middle school students who remain after school for a club or other school-sponsored activity from 2:30–3:20 PM will receive a bus pass upon completion of their activity. The late bus is available only for students participating in school-based activities. Students who leave an activity early, go into town, or stay after school to socialize will not be permitted to ride the late bus.

We appreciate your partnership in encouraging students to fully participate in their activities and to follow these expectations. Thank you for your continued support in helping us maintain a safe and well-organized after-school program. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Take care,
Ana Hurley

Good afternoon,

It was a wonderful and full week back to school here at MMS! We had a wonderful author visit today and his messages of resilience, collaboration, and acceptance were so well received by our students and staff. Please be sure to ask your kids about the author's presentation and their workshop experiences.

Students sent home emails this week alerting caregivers to the midway point of the term and the year! Please check in with your child and their squad leader if you have any questions about your child's progress and performance.

The Nutcracker Is Here!

Terpsichore is pleased to present their 17th Annual Production of their take on this Holiday Classic. This 90 minute (including a 15 minutes intermission with concessions provided by the Crimson Post) features over 190 preK - 12 students, in three different casts, to a score that amalgamates the original work of Tchaikovsky and variations from Duke Ellington’s The Three Suites. Senior Rylee Ensminger will be dancing her final Nutcrackers this weekend and Chace O’Connell is working backstage.

Tickets are available at the door at a cost of $10.00 for adults, $8.00 for students and senior citizens, and under 5 can be free if a lap sitter. Additionally, congratulatory candy grams can be purchased for performers before the show and during intermission. Performances are in the George C. Roy Auditorium at the MS/HS.

Show dates and times are as follows and the house will open 45 minutes prior:

Good afternoon,

As we head into the short holiday break, I want to share how thankful I am to be part of the Millis Middle School community. Our students bring so much energy and heart to school each day, and our staff works tirelessly to support them. I’m also grateful for our families and the steady support you give our school. You help bring our motto to life every day: Small School, Big Family.

I hope the next few days give you time to slow down, rest, and enjoy the people who matter most to you. Even a brief break can make a big difference. I hope it brings your family comfort, joy, and a nice reset before we return.

Here's some joyful information in our MMS newsletter from this past week and some important dates coming up.

Take care,
Ana

Dear Parent or Guardian,

At Millis Middle School, we want to make sure that all students have the best possible education and support for their learning and well-being. To help us better understand students’ health needs, students are being asked to participate in the MetroWest Adolescent Health Survey, which Millis Public Schools have administered since 2006. The questions on the survey cover many topics, including: alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use; violence and safety; nutrition and physical activity; online behaviors; and mental health. It also asks questions about students’ demographics so we can understand if there are groups of students in need of extra support. We will be giving this online survey to students in grades 6-8 on November 7, 2025.

Please see the attached letter and fact sheet for more information about the survey as well as opt-out information.

Thank you,
