The Millis Middle School prides itself on a long history of Student Leadership. Students in grades 7 and 8 are recommended by their teachers for the Student Leadership Team. The team meets during lunch and after school for training and to plan activities that will strengthen the culture of kindness, inclusion, tolerance, and acceptance in our school.

During the school year the Student Leadership Team learns how to start a movement. Some campaigns in the past have included #MillisSayHello to make everyone feel welcome in school and Commitment to Excellence. The team has also organized an in-house Relay for Life in support of the American Cancer Society for the past two years.

Students participate in training in-house and often outside of school, for example at online4good academy at WGBH Studios and at Bridgewater University's MARC Institute. The focus is on identifying ways to strengthen our school culture and planning a school-wide event to bring people together.

One member of the team is nominated to represent our school as a Project351 Ambassador and organizes a spring and fall service project.

We believe in the power of students to #MakeADifference!
